Fairy Tale town -Tallinn Old Town

So, Tallinn old town is really old, it was started 1000 yrs ago and most of it was bulit in 1100, 1200,1300,1400 year
It is really amazing and whenever u want to see a real fairy-tale town, go to Estonia, go to Tallinn....it is seriously hard to capture its beauty in a pics.....u can be a judge

The next day was very lovely.....actually i think it ws raining in AM, of course....would be strange otherwise...anyways, afternoon was lovely and we went for a nice walk in the old town with my gf and did some window shopping, she actually did a lot of shopping too and got some cute stuff...i tried to save money, as I have no need for some more clothes.

So, we did not get too good pics,...,...u know, let me tell u, in few yrs, u will think that this pics was GREAT, so I will post some pics from 2006...since they did not like the pics I took this time......I will post them in 2 yrs, i think they will like them then A LOT hahahaha
So these r the girls I used to work with in a Language School and teach English, they both have different career now.... very important jobs .....

Rakvere- cute little town in Eastern part of Estonia

The next day we went to a SPA and water centre in little town called Rakvere. It is a new spa, many saunas, pools and they have a huge old fort on top of a hill..
They have a SPA on every corner in Estonia, what else would u do in long cold winters after skiing, go to a SPA and and SAUNA and have some beer and vodka:)

LAst night and back to Tallinn

So, u can read about my last night titled "horror comedy" ......and the next evening it looked like in the pics above ..........back in Tallinn, my hometown, my birthtown, towers town as they call it in a song.....

then, one day we went to Tartu, were i went to University that was founded by a Swedish king many hundreds of years ago.... we met up with my course mate who is expecting her second child and went to a very lovely restaurant....
by the way, have I said, how much Travis enjoyed everything we ever did there....

Rain and rain and more rain and in between 2008

So, it was raining all the time, but in between the rains it looked like this....
and Travis had fun with Georg, my gf son............and Madison had fun in outhouse...and we had lunch in between moving grandmother with my only aunt, her daughter, mom etc...

Hard work on the farm

well, then i did not take pics many days, for different reasons....rain, problems with grandmother etc and her move (long story) she cannot be by herself anymore, she is either with my mom, my aunt or in a small nursing home in the same village, it is actually a very nice place, like a small hotel, with 20 peeps there only. She is not staying there too much time, just sometimes, when she becomes quite difficult for everyone to handle.
Then Maire and her kids Madison and Travis came along with my other friend from Tallinn and his 6 yrs old daughter who was perfect mate for Madison. We had a lot of fun again. I also hosted BBQ at my farm house and some other friends also came over.
Madison and Kati were reapiting each other, one saying things in English and one in Estonian. And finally when Maire left, Travis announced that he will stay with me and he did and anjoyed it 1000% he is an amazing child and he loved all the dogs or any other animals and everything he saw and experienced.

Day # 5

On Day 5 I drove about 200 miles to my countryside in Southern Estonia, with my grandmother and mom and I did not take any pics. I did take a pic the next day as I was at my friends wife's bday party with her brother and his fam, we BBQ, ate, drank, had a lot of fun just talking away around the fire in their yard. Here is my firnd and neighbour at countryside and his older daughter (a model girl) and her uncle. By clicking on a pics u can make it bigger and just use "back" button to return to the blog. Finally most peeps were in the house and us three were sitting on their steps....guess, drinking estonian vodka.

So, this is the place I have spent all my childhood summers and school breaks....made hay for grandmothers cows, played with all my friends, weeded vegetables and potatoes (i hated it) picked wild strawberries, blueberries and raspberries and mushrooms in the forests, swam in the 7 lakes, played in the creeks with grandmothers dogs...

and I am now headed there to my farm house to work hard on my house with my mom and brother. I took this pic couple of years ago, since this time, there wasn't a moment like that.....or i did not get a chance....

Sunday night back in the city of Tallinn

As u can see it's still cloudy, but it's nice and warm and this pics is taken already before sunset and since the sky was not too clear as most of the time, the pic is not soo good colors....i will have better ones later ...here i just wanted to gon in order with my vacation days...
It is taken from 24 floor from a restaurant I went with my mom and brother's gf to meet my childhood gf and her husband before they went on a boat to go back home in Finland.
Will be continued, the next day I am off to get my grandmother from my aunts and going to a countryside.....

Scrolling up, Sunday, Day # 4

Ok, u need to find a title Estonian Summer 2008 and scroll up from there, since it all goes in order as i post them. Meaning backwards:) Sorry...i guess I am technically behind. So, my fourth day i had to beg my fam to go to a spa. It was actually the warmest day, starting at some time in the afternoon. about 90 F
We went to a spa and watercenter again at the seashore Lohusalu, just to the west from Tallinn. I got a massage and could not believe that it is possible to feel so relaxed. It was finnaly starting to be better with a jetlag. First we stopped at the cliff and lookout point and later we went to the sea just like that, just with feet in, and the sea was as calm as a lake.....and as it is before the storm...

On the third day, when I was still like a zombi I visited my aunt, where i did not take any pics, sadly and her older daughter and her lovely family in her beautiful house. She had a second baby in May. Her sister, my younger cousin was also there with her daughter.

At the play

First pics went with an intro, not actual comment on pic, so it was second night at a play in a beautiful seashore village called Viinistu, about an hour out of the capital city of Estonia, Tallinn, my hometown. I dragged bunch of my friends and fam there to see a comedy. In Estonia they have open air plays and concerts in various location all over Estonia all summer long. Sadly I did not get more pics there. U can see a littlebit of a sky above the sea behind us.

Estonian Summer 2008

In English: I am going to post my pics here in order as I spent my vacation and also comments for everyone to understand. Since it will be quite big undertaking, I hope U excuse my mistakes and typos! I will also try to do it in both languages, English and Estonian. That way my friends, fam and co-workers here and there will all know what's going on.

horror comedy

.....so last night, actually this AM i thought how they try to copy all kindsa attractions in Disneyland and Universal Studios.............but all u need is to buy a ticket to Estonia...........well, it is expensive, but u get all the excitment for all your money very honestly...

So, I am there in the middle of forests in my house with my grandmother ( who complained every AM that she has not slept at all............... and she did not hear ANYTHING what happened)
and my mom, and Travis................huge rain storm, wind and rain and alarm on my brand new Mazda goes off at 10.30 pm
So i turn it off and on again and watch some more TV and went to sleep
so next time i wake up at 1,30 am and hear some funny noises around the house and the car alarm going off............and I turn it off and on and I am so scared to look out of the window, so I wait 15 min and I feel sick to my stomack and wake my mom up and tell her all and car alarm goes off again..........and I am soooo sick I am ready to call an abmulance or the police..................I AM SOOOOO SCARED and don't understand whats going on outside and I also have big D already as well.....
and mom says, well, she thinks it's deers or some other animals..........I am thinking, why would or how would they touch the car so badly and just make all kindsa noises around the car and house
so finally I cannnot take it anymore and i have made my mom scared too and I call my childhood friend, the neighbour guy, who is 1,5 m away and his 15 yrs old daughter answers the phone (thank god) at 2 am and wakes her mom up and then dad and i tell him, u have to come over, I am soooooooooooooo scared and i have no idea whats going on aroud the house and the car....

so it's a pitch black dark and rain and wind and he turns his car headlights everywhere on the meadows and forest around the house and 15 yrs old girl looks around the house with a flash light and i start feeling better since they came to "RESCUE" me............
so I ask if the girl can stay and sleep next to me and Travis.........and she did..........
she is the one who always emails me and I take her and her 17 yrs old sister all the clothes etc.......and they r very gorgeous and sweet and hard working girls who literally chop wood every day after school.....(instead they should be in Milan or Paris modeling)
...anyways, so Raul,my friend, shakes the car and the alarm does not go OFF..........and I open the car doors and before that Raul already told me that he thinks there is some big flying incect in there and the sensors get the alarm going..............and I do not believe him and guess what, there was a butterfly in a car...............
anyways, I have never been so sick of fear in my life
and grandmother heard all in the morning ( this is a proof that she actually "cannot sleep") and the electricity was off, because one powerline was down due to the storm...
so I then went to sleep finally and woke up at 9 am when I heard my mom telling grandmother very loudly that she cannot make coffee.............
OMG, so, rain was still raining and my mom looked like search and rescue person, in grandmothers old pink hooded jacket and all wet and ready to be tropped in some worlds oceans to save someone...........hahahahhaaaa
I said, i am not sad to leave..............I cannot take a night like that
so far there were so many friends also over and Juts 9my brother and his gf................and no butterflies in a car
I told Raul and his fam as well that they will not be sad because I am leaving, when no one will calling at 2 am to ask them to come rescue someone and my fam and a Californian boy Travis..... (Steve called at 7 am to my cell to talk to Travis and I told him that we ar sleeping!!!)
and Raul the guy who " saved " me made all kindsa jokes............like that when I take Mazda back I can tell them that we went and got it back from Latvians, (my house is 10 km from Latvian border) who came and stole it....
or did i think that anyone would come around at 2 am with a storm like that...........what was I thinking
it's very dark in a night like that in August
it was like in a horror movie.........
so if u r not afraid of that, u r welcome..............u will have experience and memories for LIFETIME....

to think back its soooooo funny....
Travis was also sleeping through all and I told him in AM that he missed all the action.......and excitement
He liked it there sooooooooooo much even if it was raining most of the time and he wore my grandmothers rain boots the whole time ....
